Profound (aka 67 DEGREES LIFTING™) is a minimally invasive procedure that combines radio frequency (RF) with micro needling to treat sagging skin and loss of volume. It’s intended to tighten skin, add volume, and improve elasticity by reinvigorating the body’s natural production of hyaluronic acid, elastin, and collagen.
Profound RF is also called 67 Degrees Lifting, a term coined from the temperature that the device uses to heat up the skin. This is not a fancy term, because it has been proven by many plastic surgeons that 67 Degrees is the PERFECT amount of temperature needed for skin to generate collagen and elastin. This makes the Profound RF our signature device as it is the only non-invasive facial lifting device that can be compared to facial lifting surgery.
Profound is most often used around the mouth, cheeks, and on the neck, but it can also be used on the body to fade scars and stretch marks, rejuvenate the skin, and diminish the appearance of cellulite.
Results of Profound RF are long-lasting. You should start to see results from a single treatment in as little as two weeks, with the best results visible within three months and continued benefits for up to four years.
Each 45-minute treatment begins with local anesthesia to numb the area that’s being treated. Then your provider presses the handheld device into your skin, and the disposable cartridge generates heat while 12 tiny needles create micro-injuries in your epidermis. Your provider lifts and moves the device to treat each small patch of skin until the entire area has been treated.
Who makes an ideal patient for Profound?
It is perfect for the individual that has recently begun to notice a loss of youthful elasticity in their skin and may have some sagging skin and a few early wrinkles. It also works well in patients with acne scars and can absolutely be used on the forehead.
It works by penetrating the skin at a precise depth with tiny needles, before momentarily releasing a burst of radiofrequency energy (heat). This stimulates collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, resulting in a tighter, smoother, more lifted appearance.
Patients can expect to see their best result from Profound treatment approximately three months after the date of their procedure. The results last indefinitely; the hands of time are effectively set back. We can't stop the ageing process altogether, but we can push back the point from which it starts.
